OK, so I enjoy the occasional Regency romp with a bit of spying on the side, and Ms Michaels writes them so well This is a new mini series of 4 books, I think, since there are 3 brothers and a sister involved , and obviously the back story has to be laid well enough that one will continue with the rest There was an awful lot of telling and not much doing , so that may put off some p...

Kasey Michaels opens her series with the Redgraves with a real winner This is one of the few regency romances that I ve read that didn t leave me frustrated with one orof the characters Jessica is a smart no nonsense heroine, who believe it or not doesn t do anything stupid that jeopardizes her life in the whole book Wow I thought that was a requirement of regency romance All heroines must be kidnapped or nearly killed by a dastardly villain in the last 40 pages. And there s a real intr Kasey Michaels opens her series with the Redgraves with a real winner This is one of the few regency romances that I ve read that didn t leave me frustrated with one orof the characters Jessica is a smart no nonsense heroine, who believe it or not doesn t do anything stupid that jeopardizes her life in the whole book Wow I thought that was a requirement of regency romance All heroines must be kidnapped or nearly killed by a dastardly villain in the last 40 pages. And there s a real intrigue in this story Gideon s grandfather had started a hellfire club, that his son continued The point of the club involves all sorts of naughty things as...

This started off interesting then became somewhat labored halfway through It did redeem it s self towards the end and I was able to finish it Some of the issues I had with the book was that events kind of seemed to jump around in regards to the secret society There were several times I thought I had skipped pages because there didn t seem to be a Segway from one event to the next many things are hinted at, but never adequately explained and I thought I had missed snips of conversations etc This started off interesting then became somewhat labored halfway through It did redeem it s self towards the end and I was able to finish it Some of the issues I had with the book was that events kind of seemed to jump around in regards to the secret society There were several times I thought I had skipped pages because there didn t seem to be a Segway from one event to the next many things are hinted at, but never adequately explained and I thought I had missed snips of conversations etc There was an old society, new society, then all of a sudden no one cared about either society Gideon, who originally wanted to get his father s corpse back, didn t give a moments thought to it a quarter of the way through the book More importantly, why didn t he go home to find out about the giant hole s Many of the characters actions made little sense. Also, Jessica, the heroine, originally was trying to gain guardianship of her half brother Yet, he only was present for a few page...
